KEF Metamaterial Absorption Technology (Meta) is a patented technology developed by KEF to improve the sound performance of speakers. This technology uses a new generation of materials designed to effectively absorb unwanted sound waves within the speaker. Specifically, it addresses waves created at the back of the speaker that could reflect off surrounding walls and re-enter the speaker, potentially causing sound distortion. The KEF Meta material can absorb and subsequently disperse these waves, reducing unwanted reflection effects and improving sound clarity. KEF's Meta technology is used in several speaker lines, including the R3 Meta bookshelf speakers. Thanks to this technology, the speakers can offer precise, balanced, and clear sound without distortion.

The Uni-Q Driver is one of KEF's key technological inventions. The Uni-Q driver combines the midrange and tweeter into a single unit, allowing for a high level of sound quality and accuracy.
