One problem. One clear focus.

IsoTek was founded to find better solutions to the problems of mains power quality and its effect on audio systems. Its first product was launched in England in 2001, and since then the brand has focused almost exclusively on power for hi-fi, home cinema and sensitive audio-visual electronics.

Development based on measurement and listening

From the start, the brand's founder Keith Martin built IsoTek on specialised research into mains power. Development uses technical measurements, laboratory equipment, thermal analysis and practical listening tests. The aim isn't to change the character of the connected system, but to create better operating conditions for its electronics.

Differential-mode noise

This type of noise travels between the live conductors of the mains. It can be generated by the power supplies of electronic devices themselves, so noise doesn't just enter the system from outside. Individual audio components can also affect each other through a shared power supply.

Common-mode noise

The second area is high-frequency interference picked up from the surrounding environment. Wireless networks, mobile devices and other RF technologies create an environment full of electromagnetic interference, which can also find its way into power and signal paths.

It's not just about distributing electricity

IsoTek mains products are designed as an active part of the power chain. Filter networks reduce both differential- and common-mode noise, and well-thought-out power distribution reduces the chance that one connected component will affect others through electrical noise.

Higher models use separate filter networks for individual outlets or groups of connected devices. Power amplifiers require different treatment from low-current source components, which is also reflected in the design of the individual IsoTek models.

Sensitive source components

Streamers, DACs, preamplifiers, CD players or phono stages usually have a relatively stable, lower current draw. For these, IsoTek uses filtering solutions with a strong emphasis on suppressing high-frequency noise and mutual isolation.

Power without limiting dynamics

Power amplifiers and active subwoofers can briefly demand high current peaks. IsoTek products designed for these components therefore use a low-impedance design built to deliver the required current quickly.

V5. The next generation of mains filtering

The current generation IsoTek V5 isn't just a cosmetic update of the previous models. The manufacturer redesigned the circuit board topology, increased the amount of copper in the current paths, reduced resistance and raised both current capacity and the level of protection.

The result is a generation of products ranging from the compact Gemini, Polaris and Corvus models through Aquarius and Sigmas to the high-current Titan. Each one addresses a different level of system, but all share the same philosophy of clean, properly distributed power.

Technology also used by hi-fi manufacturers

IsoTek products are used in the development or demonstration of their systems by a number of well-known audio manufacturers, including Arcam, Denon, Innuos, Marantz, Monitor Audio, Nordost, PMC, Primare, Roksan and TEAC Esoteric. This alone shows how important a part of a quality audio system proper power can be.

Designed specifically for audio

IsoTek doesn't start from industrial or computer filters adapted for hi-fi. Its products are developed from the outset for the specific requirements of audio and audio-visual systems.
