Higher quality CD players still have their place on the market and are among the best you can play from a physical medium. The foundation for quality CD player performance, besides a solid mechanism, includes a D/A converter, which can enhance the usability of the CD player as an external DAC for connecting other audio-video components (TV, streamer, gaming console, etc.).
