Return of the True Hi-Fi Classic

The successor to the now-legendary "Class A" original Music Fidelity A1 model. The goal of the new A1 is to preserve the original look and its warm character, but with many improvements allowed by the latest technology to enhance overall values. The most significant improvement in the internal construction of the device is a significantly improved transformer with more efficient "dual mono split rail" winding. The amplifier's output stages are powered completely independently (with double the power capacity) for the left and right channels, resulting in overall better stereo presentation and less noise. The volume control potentiometer has also been significantly improved, now replaced with a premium ALPS RK series potentiometer, which, in addition to significantly improving sound precision, also allows for the use of a remote control.

The amplifier is constructed based on a symmetrical Class A topology (when exceeding the dynamic Class A, it smoothly "slides" into Class B operation) with a power output of 25W at 8 ohms load. Despite seemingly low values, the amplifier is capable of driving more demanding speakers similarly to the original A1. As is standard with Musical Fidelity's quality of phono preamps, a phono input with perfect values for both MM and MC inputs is incorporated here, utilizing a discrete current input stage for the lowest noise amplification, additionally certified by RIAA.
