Simple and Reliable Control with MA Player

Matrix Audio audio streamers use their own freely downloadable control application (iOS, Google Play), developed for the most efficient and comfortable use when selecting the music to be played. With MA Player, in addition to setting your preferences, you can control popular high-resolution music streaming applications (TIDAL, Qobuz, and HIGHRESAUDIO) via smartphones or tablets, listen to internet radio stations (vTuner and Radio Paradise), play your own music files through DLNA/UPnP, and use AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Roon Ready connections. The MA Remote App is regularly updated not only for the smoothest and most stable use but also brings a number of new features, settings, and improvements that enhance the interactive experience.

Precise Sound Processing

Thanks to the integrated top-notch D/A converters from AKM AK4191 and AK4499, which work in a dual mono construction, it is possible to upsample all connected sources to the highest PCM or DSD resolution with excellent results. Using the MA Player app, you can easily set the resolution you want the signal to be converted to. For the most accurate and distortion-free sound, the MA-1 Pre is equipped with reference clocks with ultra-low phase noise working with the DPLL circuit (up to 45 fs in real-time) for minimal jitter processing errors. If the user of high-end D/A converters already has external clocks, they can connect them through a dedicated input.

Fast and Stable Connection

The basis of every stream is a quality internet connection. For the most accurate signal transmission, two different inputs are implemented. The latest SFP interface, which allows connection via optical cable, can better isolate high-frequency interference, ensuring cleaner sound. A standard Ethernet port is also available.

Reliable External Storage

The MS-1 features an NVMe SSD slot on the bottom of the chassis for the increasingly popular solution of inserting an internal disk, which not only improves data transfer but also avoids constant plugging and unplugging and subsequent wear of both input connectors and the external storage device itself. For standard connection or storage expansion, two USB A ports in version 3.0 are available.

Reliable Power Supply

One of the most important elements of any audio component is the power supply, and the MS-1 streamer is no exception. The MS-1 is equipped with powerful toroidal transformers, which feature square copper wires for better current capacity and lower resistance, resulting in better transient response and richer low frequencies. Each transformer powers the left and right channels separately. In conjunction with MUNDORF's M-Lytic AG series filter capacitors, it gives the sound a softer and warmer character.

Thoughtful Construction

All the listed hardware components are housed on a 20 mm CNC aluminum plate, which is attached to a unique design construction that was specially designed, developed, and adapted for the Matrix Audio M series. It is a frame, or if you prefer, an H-shaped construction that brings optimal stability and eliminates interference between circuits.
