The new streamer from Musical Fidelity reflects the brand's traditional philosophy and emphasizes long-term usability. The MX-Stream delivers classic pleasant, transparent sound with high detail and an open software architecture that allows the device to remain current for up to 10 years. The MX-Stream is classified as a network bridge component and only needs to be connected to a DAC with a USB input. This separation is again part of Musical Fidelity's vision, where audiophile sound can only be achieved when individual components are separated and do not interfere with each other.

The MX-Stream can be controlled in several ways, even without an internet connection or app. It was designed to withstand the constant development and changes in IT and applications. Below you will find all the control options:
- Web Browser – mobile devices, tablets, and PCs/laptops (any operating system or browser) - easy control option, same interface as the app.
- Bluetooth/Airplay - quick and easy streaming option.
- Official Musical Fidelity MX-Stream App - available for iOS and Android devices.
- Third-Party Apps - can be used, e.g., Tidal Connect or Spotify Connect and others...
- UPNP Apps - e.g., mConnect Lite for playback from local storage.
- Roon
- Offline Control - the streamer has its own hotspot and can be connected to without a network.
- Control via Touchscreen or Wireless Mouse/Keyboard - thanks to the USB input and HDMI, the streamer can also be controlled using external accessories.
