The new WiiM model, labeled Ultra, now falls not only into the category of audio streamers but also into full-fledged preamplifiers, including a headphone amplifier. A significant change has occurred in the use of the D/A converter, where a modern ES9038 Q2M SABRE DAC is now integrated. Supporters of large displays will appreciate the clear and intuitive touch control on the 3.5” display, where not only can everything essential be set, but the streamer can also be conveniently controlled. WiiM Ultra has also undergone changes in the modernization of wireless compatibility, now allowing the use of faster and more stable Wi-Fi connection labeled 6E or the latest Bluetooth 5.3.
WiiM Ultra features a phono preamplifier, allowing easy connection of a turntable equipped with an MM/MC cartridge. The Ultra preamplifier helps set room acoustic correction using iOS phones, thereby improving the performance of connected speakers and subwoofers. The subwoofer output allows the connection of a subwoofer in combination with an integrated or power amplifier without a subwoofer output. Additionally, thanks to the built-in EQ, you can adjust the low frequencies according to your preferences. The HDMI ARC input allows for easy connection of a smart TV for the simplest volume control. Through HDMI, Dolby Digital sound can be sent to the preamplifier, and thanks to the high-quality integrated D/A converter, you will achieve great sound from the TV.
WiiM Home control application
The basis of all WiiM products is a clear, fast control application WiiM Home (iOS & Android) supporting all the most used and popular music streaming services. If you own local NAS storage, you can easily connect to local files and stream your favorite music up to a resolution of 192 kHz 24-bit. If you prefer audio streaming directly from the playing application, WiiM Ultra supports TIDAL Connect, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect.
